Cumberland Call for Sites
Cumberland Council has launched a Call for Sites consultation as it starts its preparations for a new Local Plan.
The Cumberland Call for Sites will run until Sunday 4th January 2026 where interested landowners, developers, site promoters and communities can submit land for consideration for future development.
Land can include housing, retail, employment, open space, habitat creation, minerals and waste uses.
There is no size or locational requirements for proposed sites, however the land must not be within the St Cuthbert's Garden Village, Carlisle and the Lake District National Park as they are covered by separate Local Plans.
The Council's website also confirms that any land previously submitted to any of the legacy authorities (Allerdale, Carlisle, Copeland and Cumbria) must be submitted again through this process, and without a new submission the Council will not consider them moving forward.
At Cedar Planning we use our in-depth knowledge of the local plan process to promote sites for our clients.
If you have land in Northumberland, and are looking to maximise its value, contact us today to find out how we can help you.
