Who We Are

A planning consultancy built around clear advice and better decisions

Planning can be technical, slow and difficult to navigate. Cedar Planning was created to make that process clearer — providing clients with practical advice, a defined strategy and a straightforward understanding of what happens next.

We work across the planning process, from early site appraisals and pre-application strategy through to planning applications, appeals, Local Plan representations, enforcement matters and objections.

Our approach is deliberately personal. You deal directly with an experienced planner who understands your project, explains the risks clearly and remains involved as the case progresses.

Good planning advice should help you make a decision.

That may mean identifying the strongest route to permission. It may mean changing the strategy before money is spent on drawings and reports. And sometimes it means advising that a proposal is unlikely to succeed. We would rather give useful advice early than tell clients what they want to hear.

Led by Chartered Town Planner Dan Malloy

Cedar Planning is led by Dan Malloy, a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute with more than a decade of experience across public and private-sector planning.

Dan's experience covers planning applications, appeals, planning policy, Local Plans, enforcement, development management and strategic planning work for a wide range of residential, commercial and rural projects.

Having worked with Local Planning Authorities across England, Cedar Planning understands that councils do not all approach planning in the same way. That experience helps us identify the issues that matter and build the planning argument around the individual site rather than relying on a generic template.

Where a project requires specialist technical input, Cedar Planning also works alongside architects, highways consultants, ecologists, heritage specialists, flood-risk consultants and other professionals to provide coordinated planning support.

Why Cedar?

Strong foundations. Resilient thinking. Long-term value.
